USS Decatur Photographer

Robb Knott

After graduating from Basic in GLAKES, I attended BE&E and IC "A" School in sunny San Diego. I reported aboard the Decatur in June of 1976 as an ICFA. While aboard, I made two WESTPACS and participated in the extraction of stranded US citizens from Chah Bahar, Iran. The Decatur was then sent to the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard (PSNS) in Bremerton Washington for it's final overhaul. In October 1979, I left the Navy as an IC2 and was hired almost immediately to work for the Department of the Navy at PSNS as a marine electrician. In 1983 I took a lateral transfer to the the United States Department of State. In 2007 I retired from the US Government with 32 years of service.
